THE WINNER'S ARE . . .

Ret check total: 1st place Hornlake $5266.54 2nd place Baldwyn $3830.00 Ret check net: 1st place Hornlake -$1306.54 2nd place Olive Branch -$1253.00 AWO's: 1st place Hamilton 5 There was a tie for 2nd place on AWO's. It was between Okolona and Coldwater. They both had 4. We had to draw between the two of them and Okolona was the winner. Remember 2nd place gets 8 hours of PTO. You can choose to split the 8 hours or we can draw between the people who are in your office. Same thing for the first place winners. You can split the money or we can draw a name! Congratulations to these offices!!!

Fall is here

I'm sure everyone who has children will be taking them to the pumpkin patch. April Moore went with Drew on his first field trip to the pumpkin patch. If you have any pictures please share them with us! (click on the pictures to enlarge)

RE-POST

I posted this blog a several days back and I believe it got skipped due to all the other post that week. Please take the time to read if you have not. Hey! I have a problem... is how I started most of my phone conversations last week. I had the PLEASURE to do Jana House's job while she was off playing in Talledaga. I posted check-ups for CSI and MLSI, and I helped Dana with a few bank statements. I have always known that bookkeeping could be a "headache" job and now I know it truly is a difficult position. There were several mistakes that each office made that could have been AVOIDED if check-ups would have been double checked before sending them in. I'm going to list a few problems that I had last week, and I would like EVERYONE to make notes of them and work hard to correct these issues. 1. Check Numbers- I know this does not seem like a big thing but if each office forgot "1" check Jana would have to make "50" phone calls. Do not skip check numbers. If you VOID a check, you still must report it on the check up. Once you have posted a check on your check up please mark that check stub with a BIG *, so that you know where you stopped. 2. Match Deposits with Check-ups - During the few bank statements I did I ran across several mistakes where offices would have one number on their checkup but would have deposited something TOTALLY DIFFERENT! Please make sure that you look at your check-ups when writing out your deposits. The way I had to figure this problem out was I had to pull that office's check-ups and then call them to ask why their deposit and check-up did not match. For example, I called an office and had the manager pull out her paperwork for a certain day and she figured out that they had posted the wrong numbers to the check-ups. If this office would have matched the deposit to the check-up then they would have caught the mistake before sending it in. This was a small problem to fix but took 30-45 minutes to figure out. 3. Checkups are due by 10:00 - If you forget to send checkups, please put a reminder on your computer. Everyone has a reminder in their email that will pop up to help remind you to send them in. If you need help with this, please ask. These are just a few things that I had problems with. So let's all try to make Jana and Dana's job a little less stressful and a little faster. If you have any questions about check-ups, please get with Jana and she will be glad to assist you. Kim

Yesterday

As you know, yesterday was Boss's Day. The Fulton ladies threw a small party for Luke to show their appreciation for him. I think he was a little surprised, but thankful at the same time. There are several qualities that make a great boss, but here are a few that we found on the internet and really liked: 1. Creates a productive environment. 2. Consistently demonstrates a high level of integrity. 3. Encourages innovation and new ideas. 4. Provides objective recognition. 5. Willing to coach and support employees. 6. Encourages open communication. 7. Provides clear direction. 8. Is a true leader. 9. Positive thinker. 10. Builds positive morale. We are grateful to have a boss that possess all of these qualities. Thanks Luke for all that you do for us. We appreciate you!

Would you like...

to buy a candle, is what the customers at Tuscaloosa location will be asked. Tonya and the girls have been selling candles for Relay for Life. The candles are from J and J Candle Makers. They are sellling them for $10.00 each. Tonya asked me if she could sell candles after she read the blog about the Hamilton girls. I told her yes we could try a few to see how they did. She order 12 for her office, Hamilton, and Fulton. There are over 290 different scents. Some of the scents are: monnkey toot, romancing ms tootie, hawaian pardise, pomegranate, alabama kudzu, candy corn, etc. If you have any ideas that your office would like to do, please let me know! Halloween Costume...

Contest, anyone? In the past, we had a small costume contest. We decided last year that we were too big to get around to each location to judge, but this year we have decided to try it again. The 3 Area Manager's will judge and the winning office will receive a free HOUR lunch together outside the office while your Area Manager fills in!! Please note that there are a few guidelines that we must all follow:
1. Everyone in the office must dress up as a team! 2. Each office must get a picture to Laken by 12:00 that day to be judged. 3. Please make sure that you costume is appropriate to wear to work.
Have fun! Trick or Treat!
