Keep Your Goal In Sight

On a foggy morning in July 1952, Florence Chadwick waded into the chilly waters off of Catalina Island. Her goal? To swim the channel to the California coast. The water was numbing cold that day. The fog was so thick she could barely see the boats that were accompanying her. Several times, a rifle was fired to scare away sharks that approached her. She swam more than fifteen hours before she asked to be taken out of the water. Her trainer tried to encourage her to swim on since they were so close to land. Florence was not a stranger to long-distance swimming. She was the first woman to swim the English Channel in both directions. But that day, she was discouraged. When she looked ahead all she saw was fog. Florence gave up only one-half mile from her goal! Later, she said, "I'm not excusing myself, but if I could have seen the land, I might have made it." It wasn't the cold water, exhaustion, or fear that caused Florence to fail that day. It was the fog. Two months later Florence Chadwick swam the Catalina channel and set a new speed record. Keep you goals in sight today and press on. You may be much closer to fulfilling them than you realize! Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend, Shanda

Beware of Cat...

Macon Motors has a guard cat not a dog. The cats name seems to be "Toyota".

I have not asked but I'm pretty sure that someone is feeding Toyota.

Tina Golden's son, Jacob, on his way back to school. He is in the 5th grade. They grow up way too fast!!

Tina's son, Eli, was petrified and a little mad that he had to go back to school. He began 1st grade this year. This is a good picture of these two little school boys.

Janna Tolar's daughter, Jayla, started second grade this year. She was excited!!

Janna's son, Logan, is in 6th grade. He wasn't ready to go back to school, but is proud to be in the 6th grade.

If anyone has any back to school pictures, please send them to us. We would love to post pictures of your children for your co-workers to see.

Have a great weekend!!

Employee Pictures

This is Bethany Elrod's little angel, Annabelle. She is 8 months old and is at the age where curiosity is beginning to take over. She loves to learn and see new things.

Michelle Storey's son, John Avery, is now 16 months. It's hard to believe that he has gotten this big so soon. He looks like a little man is this picture. He has a laid back personality and his laugh would make anyone smile.

This beautiful little girl is the daughter of our new assistant manager, Tracy Floyd, in Saltillo. Bell is 4 years old and this is her first real hook. I must say that I think she got a great catch for her first fish. Holding Bell is Tracy's husband, Jimmy.

Johnna...

thanks so much for helping the Aberdeen girls out by filling in for them. I know how crazy it can be running here and there filling in. I never have any complaints from you or your co-workers. Thank you Lynn and April for keeping your office running smoothly and allowing Johnna to fill in at the Aberdeen stores. This shows that ya'll are a great team even when you are missing part of your team.

Thanks Again

Kim
